With a more rounded tip than the universal needle, the Ball Point is designed to push the fibres of the fabric apart.  This prevents the needle from piercing and breaking the fibres.

Best for cotton knits, interlock rib knits, fleece double knit, Ultrasuede and most other knit fabrics.  Use with polyester or lightweight cotton thread.
